It was about 6:30pm when Jackson had all the dishes Mary brought over filled and situated in the refrigerator, waiting for the boss lady to declare it time to eat dinner. Most of the drinks were organized on the counter for easy access and it was time to relax and enjoy the night. Mary and Savanna was engrossed in all the catalogs, Heather miserably listening, randomly commenting, and trying to seem involved. Brian and Jackson were chilling on the couch with the TV on. They weren’t paying attention to the TV but talking guy stuff. Jackson occasionally leaned back so he could peek around the wall to check on Heather. He relaxed a bit knowing her sister would help handle any topic that got out of hand, but he still had to check on her every so often. The dark circles under her eyes deeply bugged him. He tipped his Bud back as Brian carried on the conversation.

Mary was contently going over the catalogs, finally demanding Heather to pick her top three choices, none of which she truly liked. And to top it off, her party was off to a magnificent start and now she had both her bridesmaids next to her talking about wedding stuff. The only thing missing was Nick, but knowing him and how he never missed a meal, he would be strolling in any minute. She would bet on it.

Almost on cue Nick barged through the front door with his arm around a feisty girl with lush jet black hair that seemed to have a mind of its own. “Is it time to eat?!”

“Yeah! Me and butterscotch are hungry!” The short woman propped her left hand on her hip when they stopped a few feet inside.

Mary hastily stood up, knocking her chair backwards, sending sailing to the ground with a loud echoing thud. “What in the living hell is she doing here at my party?!?!” She thought she had seen the last of Monica but apparently not. Now she was looking at the bitch in the eyes while her dumbass fiancé had his arm around her! Not Mary, his fiancé, but her! Everything about that ludicrous Mexican repulsed Mary. From her too wildly hair to her white graphic tee that had the words ‘Party like it’s 1999’ stretched across her bulging breasts, to the fact she wore a black bra and under her paper thin white tee, down to her jeans that seemed to be glued to her chunky thighs. There weren’t really chucky, but Mary viewed them as so.

“Butterscotch invited me his friend, Jacks’ party.” Monica snapped back flipping her hair side to side, becoming a trademark of hers.

“It’s Jackson.” Jackson dryly corrected.

“Well, Butterscotch referred to you as Jacks. Sorry, my bad.” Monica lowered her black lush eyelashes and widened her smile. “And he didn’t tell me he had steamy stud muffins for friends.” She pressed her narrow shoulders back ever so slightly so her chest popped up, hoping to reel Jackson onto her other side. Two eye candies were always better than one was Monica’s philosophy.

“Why in the freaking hell would you invite this whore to my party?!”  Mary was in front of the two barely three feet away. She could smell the stench coming off of Monica from putting on why too much perfume. The smell was unusual mixture of cinnamon, roses, soap, and lemons. It repulsed Mary’s nose. “What the hell is up with the butterscotch shit?!” Mary’s eyes were slammed shut; her face all puckered up as if she drank a cup full of apple pucker or sucked on a lemon. Anger was burst out of her uncontrollability.
